Also known as the Bharda New High School and Junior College. Jointly founded in 1891 by Kaikobad Behramji Marzban and Jalbhai Dorabji Bharda, two Bombay Parsi educationalists. When Bharda died in 1921, Marzban renamed the school in his honour. The school thrived from inception and by 1945 was the largest privately-owned educational institution in the British Empire, with over 2600 students on its rolls. It still stands and, in 1986, the author and his wife attended a Sunday coin and medal show in one of its halls. |
