Description:Obv : Effigy of George VI.
Rev : A crowned wreath inscribed INDIAN POLICE, with the words FOR DISTINGUISHED CONDUCT across in centre.
Ribbon : Crimson flanked by stripes of dark blue and silver grey. From 1942 onwards an additional silver stripe appeared in the centre of the ribbon intended for the gallantry medal.
Awardee : A.E.C. BURGEES SERGEANT MAJOR OF POLICE MADRAS
