R. TEMPLE'S / ADMINISTRATION.
Sometimes found with SPECIMEN impressed on reverse. Sir Richard Temple was the first Chief Commissioner of the Central Provinces when the various parts under British control were amalgamated in 1861, after the Mutiny. Nagpur was and is the dominant city in central India.
