Frontal depiction of Grant Medical College in centre with a ribbon above on which is engraved the reason for the award either SURGERY or ANATOMY, around upper border : PRIZE MEDAL, lower border : GRANT MEDICAL COLLEGE.
Recipient’s name and date is engraved on the edge. Silver specimens seen : M. ED. BANA M.B.B.S 1911; DARASHAW RUSTOMJI BHARUCHA 1924. Silver awards noted range from 1909 to 1924. Awarded medals suspended from a claw and scroll bar fitted at the mint except copper and silvered copper suspended from a ring. The portrait on this medal was used from about the turn of the century onward by the Bombay Mint. |
