Signed : F. BOWCHER F., rev. In centre the star and motto : HEAVENS LIGHT OUR GUIDE, OF THE STAR OF INDIA ORDER WITHIN RAYS. Above within rays : INDIA, below a crowned royal shield, to either side a flower, all placed between four royal VRI cyphers. Around border : GOD PRESERVE OUR QUEEN & KAISAR-I-HIND MDCCCXXXVII MDCCCXCVII (Empress of India 1837-1897). Signed : SPINK & SON LONDON.
