Description:obv. Conjoined crowned busts of King George and Queen Mary, left, partly encircled by a spray of roses to the left and a spray of laurel to the right, rev : Centre inscription in Urdu : DELHI 1911. Encircled by Urdu inscription : THE DURBAR OF GEORGE V, EMPEROR OF INDIA, KING OF BRITAIN.
Suspended by a swiveling ring from a blue ribbon with two central narrow stripes. This medal was struck in larger quantities than the 1903 Durbar medal. 200 gold medals and 30,000 silver were produced. At the Durbar itself 28 gold medals were presented to British officials including the Viceroy and two other medals to the Governors of Ceylon and the Straits Settlements. 114 gold medals were presented at the Durbar of Indian Chiefs and two others to the Prime Minister of Nepal and the Aga Khan. Miniatures of 18 mm are available in gold (18 carats) and silver also made in the Calcutta Mint.
