Suspended from a lug and ring. John Connon was editor and proprietor of the Bombay Gazette, the oldest local journal, which he operated with much vigour, often holding views against the government of the day. He became Chief Police Magistrate and held numerous other positions of influence. His memorial bust was placed in the Municipal Hall, Bombay. These schools were run by the Scottish Education Society of Bombay. |
