Sohan Lal Bhatia was house surgeon and ophthalmic house surgeon at St Thomas’s Hospital. He had a very distinguished medical career having joined the Indian Medical Service in 1917 and becoming Professor of Physiology at Grant Medical College in Bombay, then it’s dean and principal. Rose to become deputy director-general in the I.M.S.
